There are many locations for photos across the property, but one of my favorite portrait spots is on the staircase with the mansion behind the couple or near the ceremony location. The best part is that you can step outside for just a few minutes and capture those images without missing anything happening during the reception.

There are several portrait locations around the property including near the ceremony space, along the drive with the venue in the background, down by the small beach on the lake, and along a wooded path that feels very peaceful.

For sunset portraits I often recommend either the drive with the venue behind the couple or the lake depending on the lighting and timeline.

Because it is located in downtown Salem there are so many opportunities for portraits around the area. Couples can start portraits at Salem Common before heading to the venue, or take photos right outside the museum which has beautiful architecture and clean lines.

Once inside the museum there are also several incredible portrait locations. Because it is a museum you do need a staff member to guide you through different spaces for photos, but they are always happy to help and there are some really unique spots that create dramatic and editorial style images.
